During the summer of 2019, I have the pleasure of working for Sarah McKinney and the Athens Area Community Foundation. My main work objective is creating new website content, and in the process, I meet some of the most influential leaders in the Athens Community. One of my roles as an intern is interviewing these successful business, law, and government leaders about the history of Athens, the AACF, and why they choose to be involved in the Athens Community.
By doing good work for the AACF I am benefiting them and myself. I am surrounded by successful, influential, and passionate servant leaders in almost every part of the Athens Community. These leaders are passionate about helping not only the Athens Community and the foundation, but also college students at UGA such as myself. Lastly, working for the AACF proved to be a perfect balance between training at a national and world level and becoming involved in the Athens Community.
