The following was written by UGA Men’s Swimming & Diving student-athlete, Teagan Cheney. Teagan is currently pursuing a degree in Finance from the Terry College of Business.
This past summer I had the incredible opportunity to work with the team at Georgia Bulldog Sports Marketing, to explore both the business and production side of how a major sports marketing firm operates. While taking summer classes and continuing to train for my upcoming season, it was sometimes difficult to balance all of my responsibilities with my internship.
However, by working with my coaches and the staff at GBSM, as well as proactively planning out my time, I was able to find a schedule that satisfied both my summer training requirement while leaving enough time for me to actively participate in my internship. I am so thankful for the opportunity that the team at GBSM and the Georgia Way have given me to allow me to further my professional career while continuing to remain in Athens and train for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.
