As you venture out on your own, it’s important to have a good understanding of your monthly income and expenses. You may never have had to budget your own monthly finances before you came to college. Even in college, income and expenses may seem a bit skew. This cost of living calculator allows you to enter monthly expenses you may incur and compare them to your monthly income. Ideally, it is best to keep you income above your monthly expenses. It is recommended to save a couple months worth of living expenses in case an unexpected incidentals happen (as they usually do in life).
