The Georgia Way ambassadors
Objective: Provide a leadership role, outside of SAAC and LEAD, to student-athletes to serve as a representative or promoter of a specified activity in an effort to bridge a gap between their teammates and campus resources. The goal of the ambassador is to help teammates feel comfortable asking for assistance in their area of need. Each ambassador will be educated with the appropriate resources to fulfill their role.
Behavioral Medicine Ambassador: This ambassador will be responsible for maintaining up to date knowledge for or related to behavioral medicine. This includes, but is not limited to, the UGAAA Behavioral Medicine team, UGA Athletic Association’s Reporting Obligations, and campus resources.
Culture and Diversity Ambassador: This ambassador will be responsible for promoting and connecting teammates to resources that are important to life outside of sports. This includes, but is not limited to, International Student Life, Multicultural Programs and Services, the LGBT Resource Center, and other
campus and student organizations.
Life After Sport Ambassador: This ambassador will be responsible for supporting Athletic Association academic counselors, UGA academic advisors, and promoting events within the various colleges at UGA. Additionally, this ambassador will be responsible for educating student-athletes on the resources and
events held with career development within the Athletic Association and through the UGA Career Center.
Service Ambassador: This ambassador will be responsible for engaging teammates in service opportunities and community involvement. This ambassador will report opportunities for service and engagement via The Georgia Way and UGA’s Involvement Network.
