Davis II, remains heavily involved with the youth in his hometown of Hueytown, Ala. He has helped six Little League teams in his hometown with baseball and school supplies. He provides annual support for Hueytown Intermediate School including playground equipment and talking to the students about life, choices and achieving success. He has a design contest for kids in Hueytown for a pair of cleats that he plans to wear at this year’s SEC Tournament. He plans to provide tickets to an SEC Tournament game to the students with the winning design.
On the field in his first season with the Bulldogs, Davis has posted a 5-0 mark in 18 appearances with 27 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched. He has registered SEC victories over No. 14 Oklahoma and at Missouri plus was the winning pitcher against No. 14 Georgia Tech at Truist Park. Davis is a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and majoring in Sport Management. This past summer, he made the USA Baseball International Friendship Series summer squad and was part of a combined no-hitter.
In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 22 league-sponsored sports. This program highlights an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.
