ATHENS, GA – The University of Georgia Athletic Association has created LeGAcy, a comprehensive Name, Image and Likeness program. LeGAcy will provide education, social media tools and support that will assist student-athletes in maximizing their personal brand, platforms, development and opportunities.
“As NIL was developing, we considered how we could bolster the programming and services we already offered to help our student-athletes navigate the changing landscape,” J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Josh Brooks said. “With The Georgia Way already in place, we brought in Altius Sports Partners to offer NIL-specific education, and INFLCR, which provides industry-leading social media tools, to bolster and continue to grow our LeGAcy program.”
Georgia Athletics’ newest partner, INFLCR is a content delivery system that allows student-athletes access to media, photography, videos and other content that will bolster their online presence. Through the INFLCR mobile app, they can seamlessly share and post content to their personal social media platforms. The app also provides analytics that measure audience engagement for student-athletes and the Georgia brand that will impact attendance, recruiting, fundraising and other strategic goals.
“Our team could not be more excited about this partnership with the University of Georgia to support all Bulldog teams and student-athletes in year one of the NIL era. The reality is that all student-athletes want to figure out how to monetize their name, image and likeness. It starts first with their ability to build a strong brand,” founder and CEO of INFLCR Jim Cavale said. “There are few traditions as rich as being a Georgia Bulldog, and now student-athletes will have resources to not only build their brand but to access content, metrics and more from their INFLCR app. Through INFLCR Plus Georgia Athletics will have the ability to provide customized social media strategy for student-athletes to really formulate their own NIL approach to personalize and monetize their storytelling. This is what INFLCR has been about since day one, and we’re now able to personify it in this prestigious partnership with UGA.”
The Georgia Way is an innovative, comprehensive student-athlete services program that uses a holistic approach to developing student-athletes over their time at Georgia and beyond. It provides academic, alumni networking, career development, community engagement, multicultural services and programming, leadership growth and mental health and wellness services.
In April 2021, the UGA Athletic Association partnered with Altius Sports Partners to provide strategic guidance and educational programming to help student-athletes at UGA understand NIL policies, their impact, and prepare and empower them for all things NIL. The comprehensive educational partnership delivers instruction on personal branding and brand management, business formation, financial literacy, intellectual property and opportunity management, including social media monetization, personal appearances, merchandising, camps and clinics and in-kind deals.
“The student-athlete experience is evolving in ways we’ve never seen before and we are committed to ensuring all of our student-athletes are able to maximize their time at UGA,” Brooks said. “I am confident we will provide one of the most thorough and well-rounded NIL programs in the country. One where every student-athlete knows that Georgia Athletics is the place where you can Build Your LeGAcy.”
