ATHENS, Ga. —Katie Ray of the University of Georgia equestrian team was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the conference office announced.  

A native of Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Ray stands out as Georgia’s leader in Community Service. With her bubbly personality and genuine heart for others, Ray goes above and beyond her call of duty to the UGA and Athens community. 

She participated in Shop With A Bulldog for four years, most recently organizing all 60+ members of the team to participate. She has volunteer at the Butterfly Dreams 5k and has volunteered to school ponies during their horse shows for child with special needs. Ray has coordinated various homeless shelter activities, including clothing drives, food drives, meal prep and delivery.  She participates in Relay for Life and is a member of the Special Olympics club, attending various events including prom and social groups. She has been a Clarke county mentor and participated in Girl Power Day through UGA Athletics.

Ray and the Bulldogs finished the 2021-22 season in the quarterfinal round of the NCEA National Championship in Ocala, Florida.
