Parker Nail is a member of the UGA Track & Field and Cross Country team. He is studying Social Studies Education.

I attended the Ultimate Training Camp (UTC) in the summer of 2017 at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, where I learned many principles to apply to my sport and in life including how to be mentally strong, how to deal with suffering, how to grow, and how to serve teammates. Athletes of all divisions were present from across the country, and the SEC was strong including some Georgia Bulldogs. The interactions I had with student-athletes, interns, and staff at camp led me to intern as well this summer. I led a male small group, met one-on-one with camp participants, and helped athletes learn and apply Biblical principles to athletic competition. I underwent challenging curriculum led by Athletes in Action staff to help equip me to be a servant leader for a lifetime. The internship maximized my UTC experience, helped me grow in my faith and ministry skills, and developed me into a leader who will have a greater impact on campus and in the rest of my life. This internship affirmed my passion of working with student-athletes via teaching, coaching, and/or participating in athletic ministry. I am grateful to The Georgia Way for facilitating life-changing connections and hope to invite more Georgia student-athletes into this unique experience.
