Sarah Gardner graduated in December of 2017 with a degree in Marketing from Terry College. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Sport Management & Policy through College of Education. In the summer of 2018, she had the opportunity to intern with the PGA TOUR.
This summer I had the opportunity to work at the PGA TOUR Headquarters on the Corporate Marketing and Business Development Teams. I was able to work on and help manage large accounts for corporate sponsors as well as title sponsors. Not only was I able to gain a lot of knowledge and experience to advance my career goals, I was able to network with my fellow interns as well as bosses and executives within the organization that exemplify outstanding leadership skills— including the Commissioner.
This experience was one to remember for the rest of my life. I do believe the past 5 years at the University of Georgia prepared me to exceed expectations and do well as an intern this summer down in Ponte Vedra, FL. I encourage all student athletes to use the resources available so they can experience similar opportunities and work on building a successful post collegiate transition.
