What to Wear? Business Attire for Interviews


  • Lay out your interview outfit the night before to check for any stains, missing buttons, or tears.
  • Make sure clothing is clean and well pressed.
  • Try to avoid flashy jewelry or watches.


  • Two-piece matched suit, either navy, black, gray or dark brown (if you choose to wear a skirt, be sure it covers your thighs when seated)
  • Tailored blouse, shell, or knit top (avoid gaping at chest)
  • Nice, closed-toe shoes
  • Carry only one bag
  • Avoid heavy perfume

  • Clean, trimmed fingernails
