ATHENS, Ga. — Mackenzie Engram, a senior forward on the Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball team, has been named to the Southeastern Conference’s Community Service Team for the second-straight season, the league office announced Thursday.

Engram has been a model student-athlete during her time in Athens, often serving as Georgia’s leader when it comes to community service initiatives.

This past spring, she was voted by student-athletes across the University of Georgia as the winner of the prestigious Clifford Lewis Leadership Award — an honor given to one female student-athlete who demonstrates a commitment to a group of individuals above  personal gain. She was also chosen to represent her team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC} because of her commitment to be involved on campus and in the community.

A native of Powder Springs, Ga., Engram began her Georgia career by placing on the SEC All-Freshman Team in her first season. She then overcame an illness as a sophomore, before stepping up to lead the Lady Bulldogs in each of the past two seasons. She scored in double figures in seven of her final 11 SEC games a season ago and is currently second on the team in scoring and rebounding.

Engram is a journalism major and aspires to work in television following graduation.
