Stella Martin Named to the SEC Community Service Team

ATHENS, Ga. — Junior Stella Martin of the University of Georgia equestrian team was named to the 2019 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Community Service Team, the conference announced Thursday, March 28, 2019.

As the philanthropic chair of the Georgia equestrian team, Martin has accumulated over 28 hours of community service this season. With a passion for others, she organizes and arranges the service efforts of the team.  She has personally volunteered at Butterfly Dreams Farm Therapeutic Riding Center and running in their 5K. She prepared meals for the Athens Area Homeless Shelter and organized all meals in the fall semester. In addition to donating to Red Cross Hurricane relief, Martin volunteers at the Special Olympics gymnastics practice at UGA.

Additionally, the Marietta, Georgia native, has also participated in Shop with a Bulldog, painted bowls to raise money for the Food Bank, donated blankets to the International Rescue Committee, and is a Clarke County Mentor.
