The following was written by Leah Anderson, a member of the Equestrian team. During the summer of 2024, Leah had the opportunity to intern with Configure Partners.
This summer I had the privilege of being an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Configure Partners through their internship program in Atlanta. This program was both intense and rewarding, offering a hands-on experience into the Investment Banking world and a chance to grow both professionally and personally.
From the start, I was staffed into multiple teams working on different live deals. The small team environment allowed me to closely observe the company culture and connect with various colleagues, giving me a genuine feel for the firm’s dynamics. Working closely with junior and senior bankers allowed me to get direct feedback on models and memos I created that would be presented to clients. Being exposed to various deal types allowed me to get a feel for which sector and vertical I would like to specialize in for the start of my career.
The internship program came with its share of challenges, from long hours to high-pressure tasks and trainings, but every day I was able to learn so much through practical application. Receiving a full-time job offer at the end of the program was a highlight. It not only validated my efforts but also provided peace of mind as I enter my final year of Grad school. Having had the chance to experience the team dynamic, culture, and industry firsthand made me confident in my decision to accept the offer and pursue a career in Investment Banking.
As I concluded the summer analyst program, I’m grateful for the growth and opportunities this internship provided, and I am looking forward to being back with the Configure team full-time next summer.
