The following was written by Sam Shurleff, a member of the football team, who is majoring in Management from the Terry College of Business. Sam had the opportunity to participate in an internship with Northwestern Mutual during the summer of 2024.
This summer, I interned at Northwestern Mutual as a College Financial Representative. Interning at Northwestern Mutual was a great opportunity to take part in “One of America’s Top 25 Internships”, during which I gained real world experience tailoring insurance and investment portfolios to personal clients while being mentored by industry professionals. I would recommend taking advantage of internship opportunities to any student athlete, as they allow you to explore a career, get your foot in the door, and network with industry professionals.
