Three Former Student-Athletes Named to UGA “40 Under 40” Class

ATHENS —— Three former student-athletes have been named to UGA’s annual “40 Under 40” list, which recognizes outstanding young alumni.  The program began in 2011 and celebrates the personal, professional and philanthropic achievements of UGA graduates who are under the age of 40.

The 2020 class, which was announced today, included the following former student-athletes:
Rennie Curran, Football (2007-09, BBA ’17), Atlanta
Samantha Arsenault Livingstone, Swimming & Diving (2003-05, BSED ’05, MED ’08), Williamstown, Maine
Jarryd Wallace, Track & Field (Signee in 2007, AB ’19), Watkinsville, Ga.

Nominations for 40 Under 40 were open from February to April, and 374 alumni were nominated for this year’s class.  Honorees must have attended UGA and uphold the Pillars of the Arch, which are wisdom, justice and moderation. The past four 40 Under 40 classes have included 17 former UGA student-athletes, including six members of the 2019 class: former football players Demetric Evans, Malcolm Mitchell, Cory Phillips and Dr. Ryan Schnetzer; former swimmer Allison Schmitt and former basketball player Tina Taylor.

Previous honorees have been recognized at an awards luncheon in September.  Because of the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, plans are underway for a “virtual” celebration for the Class of 2020, the date for which is yet to be determined.
