Inside Georgia Micro-Internship: Zora Morgan

,

The following was written by Zora Morgan, who is on the UGA Gymnastics team. She is studying Public Relations through the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, and had the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Inside Georgia Micro-Internship through the University of Georgia Athletic Association.

The Inside Georgia Micro-Internship was a great opportunity for me to see all that goes on behind the scenes in Athletics. I was able to meet and make new connections with directors from a variety of departments and learn about the roles they play.

Because Sports Communication is something I’ve known I wanted to pursue, I was particularly excited for that day. Meeting and talking with everyone in the Sports Communication department was especially impactful as I was able to build relationships with a few individuals and gain an in-depth understanding of what they do, which was incredibly interesting to learn about. I’m so glad I was given the opportunity to be part of this internship because everyone was so welcoming, fun to talk to, and I was able to closely explore my field of interest. I definitely recommend this internship to anyone interested in working in any area of collegiate athletics!
